CORRIDAS IN TIJUANA

by Unknown

August 1968, No. 6

SUNDAY, JULY 28

The first corrida of the second half celebrated in the bullring by the sea proved to be a tragic one for Jaime Bravo, and banderillero Filiberto Rivera, “Pinochito”.  Both toreros received very grave wounds.

Bravo was gored by his first toro following what could be termed a successful performance.  Joselito Huerta took charge and briefly put an end to the bull from Penuelas.  “Pinochito’s” goring came when he ran the second bull for Mauro Liceaga, falling in front of the animal.  The banderillero was caught above the right knee and the horn severed the femoral artery.
